Meet Your IMG Academy+ Mental Performance Coach
Dr. Greg Young

Head of Mental Performance Coaching at IMG Academy+

Upon completing his PhD in Sports Psychology and Motor Behavior, Greg served as an Instructor in the Department of Kinesiology at Western Washington University (WA), Senior Lecturer in Sport Coaching & Sport Development at Liverpool John Moores University (UK), and as Assistant Professor of Kinesiology at James Madison University, while providing mental performance training services to Collegiate athletes.

Greg originally joined IMG Academy in 2019 as Assistant Head of Mental Conditioning, working with boy's soccer, girl's tennis, and golf programs before becoming Manager for IMG+ Coaching and Development.

Greg is a keen golfer and soccer player and lives in Bradenton, FL with his dog, Millie.

Dr. Emily Wright

Emily received her Ph.D. in Sports Psychology with a concentration in youth sports parenting from Michigan State University. At MSU, Emily provided mental performance training services to the DI women’s tennis team and youth hockey teams in the surrounding area. Currently, Emily is an Assistant Professor at Miami University (Ohio), where she teaches and mentors students in Sport Psychology.

Emily joined the IMG Academy+ team in October 2021 as a mental performance coach and is currently working with various athletes from various sports (tennis, golf, soccer, hockey, swimming, and basketball).

Outside of work, Emily enjoys watching hockey, exercising, and spending time with her husband, Zack, in Oxford, Ohio.

Frequently Asked Questions
This course is for high school aged student-athletes looking to build skills that can help them achieve their goals in sports and life. All sports welcome! Live courses are great for athletes who learn best with guidance from an IMG+ Coach and have flexibility in their schedules to attend live sessions with an IMG+ Coach and other student athletes. On-Demand courses are great for athletes with busy schedules who cannot attend live sessions, and want the flexibility of completing the course at their own pace.
The live courses take place over four weeks. There will be five live sessions with your group and your coach, as well as on-demand lessons for you to complete on your own time. The on-demand courses do not have to be completed in a specific amount of time. You'll have access to course content forever. The in-course community will be accessible for a 2-month period. After that, you'll be added to the IMG+ Alumni community which you'll have access to forever.
Since the live course is only four weeks, it’s important you attend as much of every session as possible. This helps ensure you’ll get the most out of the material and creates an unbeatable dynamic with your new teammates that fosters growth and learning. However, you will have access to the live session recordings after they occur if you are unable to attend. If you cannot make any live sessions due to schedule conflicts, you can either: 1) join the mailing list to get notified when new live courses launch, or 2) join the on-demand course at any time which has no live sessions.
Your IMG+ coach will be available to you online to answer any questions you may have! If you’re interested in pursuing private 1-on-1 coaching in addition to the coaching you’ll get through the course, you can learn more here: https://www.imgacademy.com/plus.
